First to Club Service:

I would first like to personally thank again Jack Kayler for taking on the role as Foundation chair and to let everybody know what a wonderful job he is doing with it.  I would also like to announce that Carter Davenport has agreed to take Geroge Lothian’s place as Family of Rotary chair.  I also wish George and his family all the best in Charlotte.

 Now to Fun!!
Carter and I will be continuing the monthly “First Thursday Socials”  and our next one will be 5:00 p.m., November 9th, upstairs at:

 Back to Service:

Kid’s Voting is Underway!!

November 7th, 2006

Early numbers from the polls at Precinct 025 (The Cathedral of His Glory) show steady but light turnout. As of 8:30 am there had been seven voters.

Some polling irregularities were observed as one seventh grader was heard to reprimand his younger sister “No! you don’t want the democrat!”

The conflict was quickly resolved with a shove.

Rotary Foundation Banquet

November 3rd, 2006

The Greensboro Airport Rotary Club was well represented at the District 7690 Rotary Foundation Banquet at High Point Country Club. The banquet, held on November 2nd, again reminded us of what we all do collectively to support the Rotary Foundation worldwide. This last year our district donated over $500,000 to the Foundation bringing our total over our history to over $7.5 million.

The Airport club was also well represented by the addition of three new Bequest Society Members, or rather Bequest Society Couples. This year we added Brian and Heather Coghill, Tanya and David Feagins and Tim and Kathy Gardner.

Bequest Society Members are those that mention the Rotary Foundation in their estate planning with gifts in excess of $10,000.

Launch of New Airport Rotary Website

October 26th, 2006

In the coming days you will see the development of the new Greensboro Airport Rotary Club Website and Blog.

As most of you know Blogs are the hottest things going on the Web, and properly used can be a powerful tool for communication and outreach for our club. A blog (short for Web Log) is a web presence that allows anyone to publish their own views, information and, in some cases gibberish, to the world. The power of a blog comes with the ability for almost anyone to comment and link to your site to share what you we are doing.

There will be ways that you can link to the site and post information pertaining to the Club’s News and Events. Also we eventually will have it set up so that if there is news, for the Club or Rotary in general, that everyone needs to know, that information will be communicated (straight to your In-Box) directly to you.

I know The Club Officers will be excited to finally have something up that can show what Greensboro Airport Rotary Is All About!
